Oksana Pikush was born and raised in the town of Petrykivka, the historical center of this art form and was taught by her parents Andriy Pikush (People's Artist of Ukraine), Maria Pikush, (Merited Master of Folk Art of Ukraine), and Ivan Dmytriuk, Master and teacher of Petrykivka art. She specializes in interior décor (mural paintings) and teaching Petrykivka style art to children and adults.
