ROMANI SINGING
Eva Salina will present a dynamic selection of songs from the many Romani musical dialects in the Balkan countries. Emphasis will be placed equally on conventions (language, vocal technique, stylistic elements) and musicality (self-expression and small improvisation/personalization of the songs). Context and history of the songs will be discussed. Instrumental accompaniment for the sessions is also possible--please contact Eva if you are interested in participating in this way.
