ANNYEN LAM

Annyen is an artist, yogi, teacher, musician and traveller. Based in Toronto, she studied Printmaking at OCAD University and has exhibited internationally, including the US, Japan, Holland, Russia, Venezuela and Holland. Along with lithography and book arts, she explores installation and paper-cutting. In 2015 she started Tiny Blades Project, a daily paper-cut project that has since developed a life of its own. She has served as an alumni mentor to OCADU thesis students and currently teaches workshops in printmaking and papercutting in artist-run centres in Toronto.

Annyen was first introduced to yoga due to repetitive strain injuries in her shoulders and wrists. What began as a means to rehabilitate and strengthen the body quickly became a daily practice and a gateway to a deeper level of healing for the heart and mind. She has since completed an extensive 500-hour teacher training at the acclaimed Octopus Garden Yoga Center. In her classes, Annyen aims to create an inclusive, exploratory environment for her students, offering rich alignment cues with a lighthearted and nurturing approach.
