FOOD - BREAD BAKING

Learn to make traditional Ukrainian breads and sweets: makivnyk - a sweet yeast bread filled with swirls of rich poppyseed filling, medivnyk - fragrant honey cake and kolach - a buttery braided yeast bread. We’ll learn about bread lore and the history and traditions behind the breads we bake. As a grand finale, we will make a wedding bread known as a korovai - a truly communal effort, decorated with birds made out of dough, so that we can all break bread together.
