CARLOS M. GARATE
He can: program computers, shoot a photo camera, speak Spanish, cook, listen to people’s stories, drive stick.
After some introspection, Carlos believes he started doing photography because he wanted to have a role in the capture of fleeting moments. He has always been seduced by the imagery of the world. This, mixed with an overloaded sense of curiosity has kept him interested in learning more about the photographic process. Originally from Mexico City, Carlos resides now in Toronto and calls it home. A self taught photographer that likes passionate people (one of his most cherished subjects), he has participated in various exhibitions as part of Gallery 44 where he is a member. Some of his work resides now as part of private collections.
Carlos is looking forward to documenting the moments at Folk Camp and to teaching some photographic techniques to camp-goers.
