Folk School

FOLK SCHOOL IS DEDICATED TO CLASSES, WORKSHOPS, & DEMONSTRATIONS
IN TRADITIONAL CRAFTS, TRADITIONAL EASTERN EUROPEAN SINGING & DANCING.

We specialize in Ukrainian Eastern Egg decorating ("pysanky"), printmaking, Ukrainian embroidery, straw and wheat craft, weaving, and host a diversity of workshops led by various skilled artists and artisans from Ukraine, and across Turtle Island. 

We also connect people with learning opportunities in the traditional music & dance of Eastern Europe, hosting masterclasses in Ukrainian polyphonic singing, as well as various European folk dance workshops, including Polish, Ukrainian, Hungarian, and Balfolk, all with live music.

Most of our classes take place at St. Vladimir Institute, 620 Spadina Ave., Toronto. Please take note of the location of your class, as sometimes the locations switch. We also host masterclasses, private and group workshops in schools, community centres and festivals across Ontario.
