Dear Folk Camp Members
We are honoured to invite you to our Folk Melanka! We have been hosting this event for years, and have decided this year to make our invitation exclusive to members of Folk Camp. Thank you for being a member with us.
Melanka is a time of dress up and mummery, caroling and making fun! We invite you to join us with a dish as an offering to our feast, to grace us with your presence and bring your songs and stories to add to the richness of our overflowing table.
This year’s Melanka will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at The Lithuanian House in Toronto - 1573 Bloor St. West.
Arrive by 6pm with your potluck item.
Dinner starts at 7pm.
Dancing will begin at 9pm.
Expect traditional singing, toasting, and a folk play during our shared potluck feast.
We invite all participants to bring a dish to contribute to the potluck. The potluck will be followed by music and dancing.
For organizational purposes, we have a sign-up spreadsheet for potluck items. You can have a look and sign up for a certain dish or type of dish via this link :

Please come in your finest folk regalia, that your people may recognize you as one of their kin, and that in this day and age, we too may recognize you as kin, by the care and beauty manifest in your attire.
In the dark nights of winter, we illuminate our communities with song and dancing, feasting, prancing, and witnessing the great wheel turning. We gather because – life. To sit together and share food, stories, sing and laugh and weep, is to be human, is to honour life.
Patronizing the bar and participating in the raffle directly helps to fund Folk Camp! Remember to bring cash! Though cards can work in a pinch, too. ;)
We look forward to seeing you to welcome 2024 together.
With love,
Folk Camp / Kosa Arts
