is an ethnomusicologist, archivist, and traditional performer from Kyiv, Ukraine. He is a graduate of the National Music Academy of Ukraine (accordion) and is currently pursuing a PhD in ethnomusicology there. Additionally, he is a research officer at the Kyiv Laboratory of Ethnomusicology (LEK), where he manages one of the largest archives of traditional music in Ukraine. Alongside his research work, Oleksandr holds the position of assistant professor at the Kyiv Conservatory, where he teaches ethnomusicology to conservatory students. Since 2019, he has immersed himself in Ukrainian traditional singing, studying under Iryna Klymenko and Yevhen Yefremov (the “Drevo” ensemble). Now he actively performs as a member of the “Babskyi Kozachok” and “Viltse” ensembles in Ukraine and Europe.
